James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece… and a rare modern classic. The Vail Valley Theatre Company enhance this already timeless piece!

The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

One of Sondheim’s most popular works, “Into the Woods” is a musically sophisticated show with the opportunity to feature actor’s adept at dark comedy. The audience will especially enjoy highlighting the fantastical elements of this magical word.

Redstone Castle

Redstone Castle is located in Redstone Colorado, just outside of Carbondale. Built in 1897 for John C. Osgood, this residency has seen it’s share of Colorado history. Teddy Roosevelt and John D. Rockefeller have enjoyed spending time at this beautiful, historical abode. The movie, ‘The Prestige‘ starring Michael Caine, Christian Bale and Scarlett Johansson was filmed at this location, as well!

The Castle remains essentially true to the original form from when it was assembled in 1897, and for that reason it is protected under the Colorado Historical Easement. This essentially means that only the furniture may be replaced. There are 42 rooms spread out over 24,000 square feet, along with 14 fireplaces for warmth. Beautifully designed Tiffany light fixtures adorn the custom motif of every uniquely created room, each with it’s own testament to a different country. A must see is the Gentlemen’s Game Room, so many rich, opulent stories to be told there!

This beautiful property is set for Auction on October 7, 2016, you must provide a minimum bid of $2,000,000.00 to throw in your hat. Good Luck!!

Dogma Athletica in The Riverwalk at Edwards has teamed up with the Shaw Center to promote health and awareness and to give back to the community. Dogma is sponsoring a yoga challenge, encouraging yogis to stretch, sweat and decompress — not only to benefit their own well being, but to give back to those in need. For each yoga class attended, Dogma will donate 50 cents to the Shaw Center. The more classes attended, the more Dogma will donate. In the spirit of healthy competition, Dogma will be tracking how many classes each yogi attends, and the yogis who attend the most classes in the month of October will win prizes. trail above arrowhead

The Village-to-Village Trail is the heart and sole of the interconnecting network of trails and skiways, making it the perfect pathway for exploring Beaver Creek Resort, which also includes Bachelor Gulch, Vail Co and Arrowhead at Vail. One can travel by foot, snowshoe or mountain bike a pathway stretching nearly six miles from Beaver Creek Resort’s Talons area all the way across Bachelor Gulch to McCoy Springs, above Arrowhead Village.  The trail is part of a larger system of “skiways” which locals use to enjoy the expansive, three village resort.  The trail officially begins or ends at 8,900 feet above sea level with the Beaver Lake Trail, 1.75 miles up the Beaver Creek Valley from Beaver Creek Village.  From this point, you have a 4 mile journey to Bachelor Gulch Village and another 2.5 miles to Arrowhead Village.  This trail is a wonderful area to see the explosion of wildflowers in early July because  the trail is closed until June 30 for elk calving.  Autumn at Beaver Creek Resort is wonderful time of year to immerse yourself in the magnificent golds and oranges of the aspens.  Snowshoeing is a great way to explore the Village-to-Village trail as well.  Happy hiking!
