Vail Valley hiking and biking trails

This is a wonderful time to visit the Vail and Beaver Creek areas.  July and August and even September are great.  Mountain weather, shops, restaurants, activities hiking, biking, fishing, mushrooming, festivals, it’s all here, the best.

Get out of that heat you are living in for a little while.  Getting into properties to show them is sometimes difficult, but this is the best time to buy and sell except for a few months in the winter during ski season.  It’s a beautiful day in Colorado, Bob

Mountain Standard Restaurant is an innovative restaurant from the creators of Sweet Basil in Vail, Colorado.  The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.  It is a rustic, relaxed tavern with an age-old way of cooking over an open, live fire. It’s the only restaurant in the valley to devote themselves to this way of cooking.  The restaurant’s food has rustic and bold flavors focusing on the purest of ingredients in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.  Being for the south we had to order the Southern Pimento Cheese with bacon and cider jam, pickled celery salad and grilled bread for an appetizer. It was awesome!  For dinner we ordered several entree’s which included the Shrimp and Grits with creole butter, piquillo peppers and pancetta, Rotisserie Chicken with fired rice, grilled endive, roasted onions with miso peanut sauce and Alaskan Halibut with sunflower romesco, olive oil potatoes, fennel, oranges and olives.  All of the dishes were excellent.  The service is first class and  we love the summer patio scene next to Gore Creek.  Reservations are highly recommended, (970) 476-0123.
