In a momentous event in September 2023, the iconic Minturn Saloon unveiled its rejuvenated appearance, offering patrons a glimpse into its storied past alongside a contemporary atmosphere. Acquired by local entrepreneurs Anthony and Connie Mazza in December 2021, this historic establishment, dating back to 1901, underwent an extensive renovation, revitalizing one of the town’s oldest landmarks.
The decision to embark on this venture was not taken lightly. Anthony recalled receiving a compelling proposition from friends, family, and investors in late November 2021. Initially hesitant, he recognized the significant investment of both time and capital required to realize their vision.
Before commencing the renovation, the Mazzas assumed operational control of the beloved establishment throughout the winter ski season of 2021-2022. This strategic move provided invaluable insights into the inner workings of the saloon, informing their subsequent renovation efforts.
Since then, the project has evolved into a labor of love, with the Mazzas infusing every aspect of the renovation with their passion for preserving the saloon’s rich heritage while embracing contemporary sensibilities. The result is a harmonious blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication, poised to captivate both longtime patrons and newcomers alike.
