Redstone Castle is located in Redstone Colorado, just outside of Carbondale. Built in 1897 for John C. Osgood, this residency has seen it’s share of Colorado history. Teddy Roosevelt and John D. Rockefeller have enjoyed spending time at this beautiful, historical abode. The movie, ‘The Prestige‘ starring Michael Caine, Christian Bale and Scarlett Johansson was filmed at this location, as well!
The Castle remains essentially true to the original form from when it was assembled in 1897, and for that reason it is protected under the Colorado Historical Easement. This essentially means that only the furniture may be replaced. There are 42 rooms spread out over 24,000 square feet, along with 14 fireplaces for warmth. Beautifully designed Tiffany light fixtures adorn the custom motif of every uniquely created room, each with it’s own testament to a different country. A must see is the Gentlemen’s Game Room, so many rich, opulent stories to be told there!
This beautiful property is set for Auction on October 7, 2016, you must provide a minimum bid of $2,000,000.00 to throw in your hat. Good Luck!!
