Vail to add New Gondola for 2012-2013 Ski Season!

Vail has selected Leimer-Poma of America to build the new, state-of-art gondola in the Vail Village.  The first of it’s kind in North America, the cabins will be designed to carry 10-passengers and will feature heated, cushioned seats and Wi-Fi access for guests.  The new gondola will travel 1,200 feet per minute which will cut the ride time from 9  to 7 1/2 minutes to Mid-Vail and will be the fastest of it’s type in the world, increasing the uphill capacity by 40%.  The new gondola will replace the existing Vista Bahn Express Lift (Chair 16).  The new gondola is subject to the Town of Vail and the U.S. Forest Service approval.
