Last week, Dec.5-11, Vail hosted its annual event, Snow Daze, a week of action-packed events and concerts to kick the winter season off right.
The week began with a performance by alternative rock band, Guster, who rocked the evening with their vibrant, humor-heavy performance. Friday night, a huge crowd welcomed Jakob Dylan and Band to enjoy some soulful, sultry music and unique songwriting.
To top the weekend off, a massive crowd braved the cold weather Saturday to see the star-studded rock band, Yukon Kornelius, a blend of some of today’s top musicians including: Dave Matthew Band’s bassist, Stefan Lessard, Barenaked Ladies guitarist/vocalist Adam Gardner, Twisted Sister vocalist Dee Snyder, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, O.A.R. members Marc Roberge and Jerry Depizzo, and special guest cowbell player/actor Jason Biggs. The show was highly entertaining and filled with energy as legend Dee Snyder hyped the crowd and jammed into the night. For those who didn’t get enough music, a matinee concert on Sunday pleased the crowd hungry for dance music with local artist, DJ Mo:Rockin and The Polish Ambassador who played upbeat electronic dance music.
The best part about this fun-filled week of music? Snow Daze was all free!! If you missed it, don’t worry, lots more wintry fun is to come with next week’s family-friendly week of events, HoliDaze.
