Why Arrowhead at Vail?

In 1982, long-time locals, including Bud Palmer, Fred Green, Art Kelton, and Sheika and Pepi Gramshammer, purchased the property now known as Arrowhead at Vail from rancher Pete Dodo. Soon after, they hired Jack Nicklaus to design the now-renowned Country Club of Rockies golf course. Dodo later complained that it took him 20 years to flatten the land and Jack only two weeks to tear it up again. The land was subdivided into 120 homesites, and John Appleby and I were hired as the first real estate brokers with the challenging task of selling these lots in a then-considered “obscure area light years from Vail Village.” within a gated community and offering the first private golf course in the Vail Valley. Now, 40 years later, Arrowhead has become the most sought-after community in the Vail Valley.

But why now? The allure of Arrowhead is for many reasons. Its location, down the valley, offers a significantly lower altitude with longer days, Summers, and flatter terrain. And the amenities are endless, including 24/7 security, Arrowhead ski mountain with access to Bachelor Gulch and Beaver Creek, The Alpine Club with The Yurt (photo below), Pools and Hot tubs, Pickle Ball and Tennis, numerous hiking trails, snowshoeing and biking trails, dial-a-ride and recently, CCR was recognized and the 2nd best Golf Club in the state of Colorado.
