17th Annual Vail Winterfest

Experience “Visages,” a captivating ice installation set to commence on January 2 at Gore Creek Promenade in Vail Village. This mesmerizing display will be on view until the ice naturally melts, typically lasting for four weeks. Witness the magic as the illumination begins daily at dusk, casting a radiant glow until 10 p.m.

Alpine Ice returns to the scene, carving 25,000 pounds of ice to metamorphose the Gore Creek Promenade into an enchanting exhibition of ice and light. Three grand sculpted ice profiles, representing the diversity of humanity, stand alongside a symphony of birds in this season’s Vail Winterfest. The sculptures delve into the intricate interplay between external influences and the subsequent thoughts embodied by the avian companions. Each individual thought, like a fleeting bird in flight, may be deceptively simple, yet a subtle whisper in one’s ear has the power to inspire an entirely new direction to soar.
