That’s right; now we can get our fill on Expert Burger as it’s made Lionshead a new home for their wildly delicious burgers!

Midwestern girl at heart I always enjoy a tasty burger! With great excitement I headed down to Expert Burger’s new location in Lionshead, concert hall plaza area and made myself comfortable on their sunny outdoor deck as I awaited lunch…

Let me start at the beginning…. Walking through Lionshead there’s a buzz in the air with excited riders, happy tourists, the wagging tails of puppies and the sweet Colorado sunshine above us.  Expert Burger has a great location with cozy seating.   Their menu ranges from classic YUM to exotic, “that sounds so crazy it must be delicious!”  Not a soda drinker? Me either! BUT Expert Burger offers a refreshing selection of Rocky Mountain Soda soft drinks; which are less guilty as they’re not filled with crap! Not to mention the not so traditional soda flavors… So I splurged for an icy cup of black cherry soda pop!  I went ahead and ordered the Meribel on a 100% beef patty!!! This burger comes with brie cheese, bacon and tomato jam.  The flavors threw my taste buds for a loop, not to say I didn’t enjoy it but perhaps next time I’ll order a more classic burger!

Check it out for yourself! Prices are honest, the environment is comfortable and the staff was prompt and kind!

Stay tuned for more news on whats new and happening in the beautiful Vail Valley!

Founded in 1996, The Bookworm of Edwards started in a van. Kathy Westover would travel between coffee shops selling new books to down-valley readers. The next summer, she partnered with former bookkeeper Neda Jansen to open an actual bricks-and-mortar bookstore in November 1997. The Bookworm drastically jumped in size from the back seat of a van to 700 square feet.

So the next time you’re in The Riverwalk pop into Gateway Real Estate and introduce yourself to one of our awesome local brokers! Then you can prowl across the street and enjoy the wonderful surroundings of Vail Valley’s independent bookstore, The Bookworm.

Rheumatoid arthritis is the most common form of autoimmune arthritis, affecting more than 1.3 million Americans.  Rheumatoid arthritis, RA is a chronic disease that causes pain, stiffness, swelling and limited motion of many joints.

For the last six years Vail hosts the Blue Sky Cup which spreads awareness on RA.  The event was founded by Jim Nollsch and Hayden Fisher, and in 2015 collaborated with the National Arthritis Research Foundation to raise money for the cause.

The Blue Sky Cup is back in Vail for their sixth annual skiing event benefiting rheumatoid arthritis research. On February 10, skiers will take to the slopes to test their endurance and raise awareness. By partnering with CureArthritis.org, the Blue Sky Cup creates an exciting and unique day of skiing at Vail, while making an impact for the estimated 1.5 million Americans afflicted with RA. You can join in the fun and make a difference by registering at BlueSkyCup.ski today.

On February 10th skiers and snowboards will have open range on the slopes; sharing stories and discussing further research on a cure for RA.
In addition to raising funds, the Blue Sky Cup is a celebration of riding, with focus on helping others and having a lot of fun!

You can register at BlueSkyCup.ski TODAY!

It sure feels really great to represent such a supportive local real estate group like Gateway.  Here I share with you the benefits from working with a tight knit real estate group…I’m constantly urged to participate in community events, explore this lovely town of Vail to feel better acquainted and continuing my higher education in the real estate industry.

Just last week I was invited by my work affiliates to attend a Vail Board of Realtors monthly meeting highlighting the infamous Mr. Jack Cotton Jr as he shares his involvement in the real estate industry. Walking into the Donovan Pavilion in sunny Vail Valley I was greeted by local community members all sharing authentic interest in the real estate market here and yearning creative tools in acquiring more positive business.  This is a warm welcome; although I do not know many of these smiling faces I am sweetly invited into the busy buzzing world of the most prominent Vail Valley realtors.

Mr. Jack Cotton Jr. an esteemed well versed entrepreneur began Cotton Real Estate in his college dorm room back in his academic days.  Jack is a well-read man, clearly aware of his appearance he dresses to impress. And not in a cheesy way but in an honest clean appearance making it his staple to always be wearing a tie!  He shares that physical presentation plays a huge role in meeting potential clients, not to mention being in tune to personal pride for what you represent – represents you.  Which I completely agree with! Come on, haven’t we all had ‘one of those days’ where we’re feeling crumby and don’t change out of sweatpants? Why is that? Well usually our inner emotions and feelings have a way of making debut on our physical appearance… take stock of this note and maybe the next time you’re feeling not so yourself try throwing on that slick blazer, or a fun shade of lipstick.  Sometimes that’s just enough pick me up to make it through the day!

Intrigued at the wisdom Jack shares I grab my pen to begin taking notes, inspired I feel listening to the words of a man who has written books to share his many stories…. Jack shares his tools for negotiation skills with clients in the real estate community.  As my pages fill up I am recognizing that these aren’t just tips for the real estate trade these are life lessons, this wise man is sharing his legacy which doesn’t only come from orchestrating business but how you lead your life. Small adjustments I am constantly aware of making will aid in the fine tuning of a beneficial fulfilling life.  I believe there is little separation between how ones lead their ‘work life’ and ‘home life’… for if we live as genuine beings there is no separation…all is honest, all is pure.

Please, if you have any questions or inquires give Gateway Real Estate a call or come on into our Vail Valley OR Edwards Riverwalk location to meet with our exceptional brokers…who I feel mirror the positive, productive traits of people you ought to know, not just realtors.

In the Vail Valley the visual arts are thriving. As a community we can proudly say that we stand along with almost any other resort community in the quality and quantity of galleries, resident artists, shows, exhibit venues and visiting artists from all round the world.

In the Vail Valley there are dozens of fine art galleries, several groups and coalitions of artists, poster galleries, and more and more vacationing visitors are beginning to recognize our artistic place among resort areas.

What makes Vail Valley different? The following story was told to me by two different gallery owners – both of whom have businesses in more than one resort as well as in cities.

Painting

Their stories are very similar: Bill and Betty (fictitious names) walk into a gallery and decide they like a work. They debate where to place the piece in their home or office. They may purchase the piece – or they may return home and than call and have it shipped to them. In another well-known resort Bob and Helen (also fictitious) debate a work and decide they like it. They then tell the gallery owner or artist that they will ask their decorator if they can buy it…

In any case, the Vail Valley Arts scene is alive and doing very well. Take time on your next visit and look through the Galleries. You will be delighted with what you find.
